Appointment notice – Jennifer Newman and Alyssa van Graft
Ron Mock, President and CEO, Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan (Teachers'), is pleased to announce the promotion of Jennifer Newman to the new role of Senior Vice-President, Enterprise Services, and Alyssa van Graft to the new role of Vice-President, Strategic Planning and Business Management. Both Ms. Newman and Ms. van Graft will report to Rosemarie McClean, Senior Vice- President & Chief Operations Officer.
Ms. Newman joined Teachers' in 2009 and was most recently Vice-President, Financial Operations and Data Management. Prior to working at Teachers', Ms. Newman worked at CIBC, where she was Vice-President, Process Reengineering & Special Projects. She has more than 20 years of experience in finance operations and change management and previously worked at the Bank of Montreal and PricewaterhouseCoopers. Ms. Newman is a Chartered Professional Accountant and holds a B.Comm. (Honours) from Queen's University.
Ms. van Graft joined Teachers' in 2011 and was most recently Director, Strategy in Teachers' Enterprise Project Management Office. Prior to joining Teachers', Ms. van Graft led strategic planning, project management and operational performance management teams with Rogers, Sky Business Consulting and Allstream. She holds a BA from McMaster University and has a Project Management Professional Certification (PMP).
With $154.5 billion in net assets as at December 31, 2014, Teachers' is the largest single-profession pension plan in Canada. An independent organization, it invests the pension fund's assets and administers the pensions of 311,000 active and retired Ontario teachers.
