Appointment notice: Patti Croft and Lise Fournel
Jean Turmel, Chair, Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan, is pleased to announce the appointments of Patti Croft and Lise Fournel as members of the board.
Patti Croft brings a wealth of experience in global macroeconomics and the financial sector to the Ontario Teachers' board. She is former Chief Economist at RBC Global Asset Management, Phillips, Hager and North, Sceptre Investment Counsel and TD Canada Trust. Ms. Croft's other board experience includes the Ontario Pension Board and the Board of the Boilermakers' National Pension Plan Canada. Ms. Croft holds the Institute of Corporate Directors designation (ICD.D) and earned a BA in Economics from the University of Toronto.
Lise Fournel brings to the Ontario Teachers' Board an extensive knowledge in transformative technology strategies, e-commerce, marketing and revenue management, based on her more than 30-year career with Air Canada. She is currently Senior Vice-President and Chief Information Officer at Air Canada, and played an integral role in the creation of Star Alliance on their behalf. Ms. Fournel has served on a number of not-for-profit boards, and is on the Technology Committee of the board of l'Université de Montréal. She has a B.Sc. and an M.Sc. in Mathematics from l'Université de Montréal and has completed graduate studies in Business Administration at Hautes Études Commerciales (HEC) in Montreal.
With $154.5 billion in net assets as at December 31, 2014, Ontario Teachers' is the largest single-profession pension plan in Canada. An independent organization, it invests the pension fund's assets and administers the pensions of 311,000 active and retired Ontario teachers.
