Beth Tyndall receives 2020 Report on Business Best Executive Award
TORONTO – Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan (Ontario Teachers’) is pleased to announce that Chief People Officer Beth Tyndall has received the 2020 Report on Business Best Executive Award.
This new awards program from The Globe and Mail celebrates excellence among non-CEO leaders. The 50 winners chosen for 2020 represent the best of Canadian leadership in five functional areas: Finance, Human Resources, Operations, Sales and Marketing, and Technology.
“I am truly honoured and humbled to receive this award and be recognized alongside such a talented group of executives,” says Ms. Tyndall. “Every day, I am inspired by our people who are some of the best and brightest in the industry. This award is a reflection of the transformational and innovative work we have done together, to evolve our structure and our culture.”
Since taking on the role of Chief People Officer in 2017, Ms. Tyndall has focused on creating and fostering a corporate culture built on inclusion, flexibility and compassion. Just a few of the initiatives that have been introduced under her leadership include the development of a global People Advisory Services model, a talent program that proactively partners with leaders to build the strengths of their team members, and an engagement tool to track ongoing employee feedback.
“As a champion of both our culture evolution and Inclusion & Diversity strategy, Beth’s thoughtful, purpose- and values-driven approach to leadership has helped us create an inclusive environment where everyone feels respected, accepted and empowered to be themselves,” says Jo Taylor, President and CEO. “This year has been an exceptionally challenging one to be a leader and she has helped guide our COVID-19 response with empathy, calm, clarity and grace. I am very proud of Beth and the work she is doing to reimagine our approach to talent management and transform our culture.”
Recipients of the Best Executive Awards were selected based on career background, leadership style, achievement and impact. They are profiled editorially in the November issue of Report on Business magazine.
