Now more than ever, detecting diseases and finding treatments to fight them is essential to our health and wellbeing.

This is the drive and the motivation behind APHG, New Zealand’s largest human and veterinary pathology network. Through its 2,000 staff and 25 laboratories, APHG provide pathology services to over 75 per cent of New Zealand’s population.

Most recently, the business –  which is New Zealand-majority owned – has played a critical role in the fight against COVID-19 – increasing testing capacity by investing in molecular diagnostics technology, deploying additional scientific staff, securing supply chains and extending laboratory operations to deliver capability and capacity where it’s needed most. APHG has delivered around 40 per cent of all COVID-19 tests in New Zealand.

Our investment in APHG will help it continue to deliver world-class pathology services to New Zealanders.
