Strategy & Stakeholder Relations

What we do

Strategy & Stakeholder Relations is comprised of four teams that advance understanding of critical global themes, including climate change, the energy transition and sustainability, develop strategic responses to them, and work to build and retain the trust of a wide range of stakeholders. We are:

  • Develops and builds conviction on strategic responses to the changing business environment. It integrates those responses across asset classes, regions and the broader enterprise so that Ontario Teachers' is able to act as an aligned organization leveraging its unique scale and breadth. 

  • Carefully assess the investments we make and identify the stewardship role we can play in creating a supportive and sustainable business environment.

  • Builds Ontario Teachers’ reputation within the investment community, employees and potential talent, the press, and other stakeholders. Our team is comprised of seasoned professionals across internal and external communications, marketing and creative, thought leadership and social impact disciplines.

  • Manages the interactions with all governments on a global basis. We maintain the integrity of Ontario Teachers’ reputation with governments, by advocating on legislative and regulatory matters, identifying opportunities for government-linked deal origination and value creation, advising on political and geopolitical risk and providing executive and board-level support.
