Robert Sturgeon is Senior Managing Director and Head of Global Investment Strategy at Ontario Teachers’. In this role he oversees the Global Investment Strategy department and Ontario Teachers’ analysis of the changing global business environment, the development of strategic responses and the integration of those responses across asset classes, regions, and the broader enterprise.

Since joining Ontario Teachers’ in 2017, Robert has held progressively senior roles in the Global Strategic Relationships and Global Investment Strategy groups.

Prior to joining Ontario Teachers’, Robert spent more than 17 years investing in private markets. This includes nine years’ experience in private equity, venture capital and infrastructure fund investing globally and eight years’ experience in direct growth equity investing with an impact investment firm in the Andean region of South America.

He is a CFA Charterholder and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Victoria.
